I'm replaying Half Life 2, and as I play it I'm kind of shocked about how badly it has aged. I know at the time of release it was epic, it's the best game ever on metacritic, and it's a 10/10 and all that. Except, I don't think it is. Yes it's a 96 percent on metacritic, yes it was launched 12 years ago.
Well it certainly isn't Half-Life 2: Episode 3 or Half-life 3, no, the logical next step is Synergy. Synergy is a modification for Half-Life 2 that allows you to play it and the episodes (as well as tons of other custom maps) cooperatively online with up to 64 players (I believe support for that many players may still be under development).

This map easily had the best atmosphere of the bunch, and is one of few half life 2 maps to genuinely feel “scary”. The shadow of the Phase Spider at the beginning was easily my favorite touch. I was also a huge fan of the random events occurring with each playthough.

Nov 2, 2020 @ 11:28am If you're just interested in the achievement then go easy mode and be done with it. Normally I don't suggest going the easy mode route, it promotes false assumptions and tactics.
